Prime Minister Sherif Ismail asserted on Wednesday that the Egyptian government is paying great attention to the file of education and scientific research, as being a cornerstone of the sustainable development process.
Ismail's remarks were made during a meeting to review a number of issues with regard to education in the presence of the minister of education and the New Valley governor.
The premier stressed that the development process has to involve all components of the education system, including teachers, schools and students.
Meanwhile, the meeting touched on the problems facing education and means of solving them in a nontraditional way.
The conferees also discussed the demands made by the New Valley governorate to increase the number of teachers in the Upper Egyptian governorate.
On that score, the premier issued directives to respond to the demands of the New Valley.
