Upon the directives of HH The Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the State of Qatar donated USD 1.5 million to Birzeit University in the West Bank, Palestine, in the form of support provided by the university to needy students . This donation comes as a part of Qatar’s contribution to supporting the Palestinian educational process. A delegation led by the president of the university had earlier visited the State of Qatar. It was agreed that the delegation is to pay another visit to Qatar shortly to seek assistance to that ancient Palestinian university and to deepen cooperation with it.
