A university in Indian-controlled Kashmir is planning to introduce Chinese language as a subject, officials said Wednesday. The announcement was made by University of Kashmir Vice Chancellor Talat Ahmad during an official function Tuesday evening in Srinagar, the region\'s summer capital. \"Kashmir University is contemplating the introduction of Chinese at the institute shortly,\" said Ahmad. The course will be taught at the university\'s Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL). The University\'s IFL is already teaching German, French and Russian languages. Ahmad said that students of different languages at IFL have enormous job potential and expressed hope that the institute was able to create a workforce in the languages taught.
