Kuwaiti newspaper, IT entity win Excellence Awards in Dubai

Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anbaa and the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) won awards at the 11th Pan Arab Excellence Awards held in Dubai late Monday.
Speaking to KUNA, CAIT's executive Dr. Itihad Al-Bahar said that the agency won the prize for e-government website which provided valuable services to the masses.
She said that the e-government website would not be a success without the guidelines set by the Kuwaiti government which was keen on developing the state's services.
Al-Bahar affirmed that the e-government website will continue to improve in the future, noting that an indication of the continuous improvement was reflected through the UN ranking which set the site at 49th place on the world ranking.
Meanwhile, Al-Anbaa editor-in-chief Adnan Al-Rashed said that he was glad that his newspaper had won the prize for its website.
He said that Al-Anbaa, which was first published in 1976, will continue to develop and uphold ethical journalism to serve people whether on print or online.
The Arab Excellence Award saw the participation of individuals from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Lebanon, and Jordan.
The Arab Excellence Awards is a competition tailored for web/Facebook pages owner/developers.
