The workshop

The Higher Population Council, in cooperation with Jordan Department of Statistics and Statistics Denmark, on Monday conducted a training workshop on gender indicators.
The workshop, financed by the Danish Center for Research on Women and Gender (KVINFO), aims to exchange expertise and experiences in the field of gender indicators, data and information.
The meeting includes digital presentations by both the departments on educational, social, economic and political data on women in Denmark and Jordan.
Statistics Denmark also briefed participants on the type of services it provides, including social welfare, employment and unemployment and migration indicators, while the HPC explained its role in providing Demographic and Gender Gap Data in Jordan.
Since 2006, KVINFO has been working in cooperation with several governmental and civil institutions in Jordan to shed light on gender issues, women's rights and public participation, which is part of the Arab Danish Partnership Programme.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark launched the Arab Danish Partnership Program in 2003 to support partnerships between Danish and Arab institutions in the fields of human rights, good governance, women's rights and economic development. The program seeks to strengthen mutual dialogue and understanding between Denmark and the Arab world.
