Washington - QNA
An American woman kidnapped by masked gunmen in central Nigeria last month was released on and handed over to US government officials, media reports quoted police as saying.
Five men abducted Phyllis Sortor from her workplace February 23 and demanded a ransom of 60 million Naira ($301,500), Kogi state police Commissioner said.
"She has been rescued and given to the American authorities," Kogi state police spokesman said, adding that no ransom was paid.
Officials refused to provide details of her release, but said it involved some form of negotiations.
