Five volunteers from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) organised the second camp for disabled children in the northern city of Irbid, as per the schedule decided for the special camp "Hello, Camp of Dreams," planned in four different locations.
According to a press release issued by the Agency's office in Amman on Sunday, the camp aims to provide an environment conducive to learning, especially for children with disabilities.
It said the second camp was held at the Irbid Center for Special Education last Thursday. The first camp was held in Al Koura Comprehensive Center for Special Education.
The second camp was designed to help children with disabilities experience a positive change, both physical and emotional. Its focal point was the recreational activities meant to act as therapeutic exercises, such as drawing, shredding papers and hands drawing, the statement said. It added that the children learned how to clean their teeth and listen to a concert.
KOICA volunteers are carrying out their activities under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Development, and have organized this camp in cooperation with a number of students from the Al Yarmouk University.
