Phu Quoc Island in the southern Kien Giang province will host the final of the 2014 Miss Vietnam pageant from Nov. 23 to Dec. 6, the organization board said here on Thursday.
Some 40 contestants from across the country will take part in traditional categories, such as wearing the "ao dai" (long gown) and participating in a question-answer session.
There will be a series of side events - visits to historical and cultural relic sites, promotion events for Phu Quoc Island's tourist attractions, charitable activities, and exchange with naval officers. A special art performance is also on the agenda.
Miss Beauty will be crowned together with 300 million VND (14, 150 U.S. dollars) in cash, while the runner-up and the third place winner will be awarded with 150 million VND (7,000 U.S. dollars) and 100 million VND (4,700 U.S. dollars) respectively.
Additional titles include Miss Talent, Miss Beach, Miss Ao Dai, Miss Beautiful Face and Miss People's Choice.
