Princess Hassa al-Thani (R)

Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League for Relief and Humanitarian Affairs, Princess Hassa Al-Thani, arrived Sunday morning in Al-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, heading a high-level delegation which included members of the Secretariat General of the Arab League in Khartoum, a number of officials o the Ministeries of Foreign Affairs and Humanitarian Affairs.
The visit aims to standing on the projects implemented by the joint mechanism of the Arab League in the state and its effect on the stability and the normalization of the humanitarian situation and the movement to the stage of early development, in addition to getting acquinted with the needs of the state for the coming stage.
In statement to SUNA, the envoy of the Arab League in Sudan, Ambassador Salah Halima, asserted the concern of the Arab League to contribute to the support and treatment of the humanitarian situations in the areas affected by war in the Sudan.
He indicated that the recent stage represented a turning point in the Arab League role after the the much security and stability and the prevalent of peace , noting that Shiekha Hassa program includes meeting with the Wali (governor) of North Darfur State for pushing ahead the development process and reconstruction of the state.
Adding that this visit is part of the program that includes visits to South Kordofan State and Eastern Sudan, and a number of meetings she would hold in Khartoum with senior officials on different levels, alongside the Arab and Islamic organizations and the officials working in the field of humanitarian aid.
The program of the visit of Sheikha Hassa includes a meeting with the Wali (governor) of North Darfur State, a visit to Daral-Salam Locality to inspect the medical and treatment services provided in the hospital which was implemented by the Arab League, and a meeting with Director of the North Darfur sector of the UNAMID.
