The UN Women launched on Saturday in cooperation with the Local Development Ministry an economic project to empower 4,000 Egyptian women.
The project will provide 4,000 small-sized enterprises at a total cost of 18 million pounds.
It comes as part of a national project to develop 250 villages, including 78 villages in the first phase.
The Social Fund for Development (SFD), Wahed Men El Nas Foundation and Coca Cola are contributing to the national project.
