Royal Army of Oman (RAO) announced the formation of a national women free fall team, during a ceremony held at the Royal of Oman parachutes grounds yesterday. The team is the first in the GCC region and second in the Arab world. The team formation underlines the belief in the big role the Omani women play side by side with men; a role held Oman’s head high among nations. Performances by the women parachutists displayed a variety of free fall skills. The event was held under the auspices of Maj Gen Said bin Nasser al Salmi, RAO Commander. Maj Gen Salim bin Musallam Qatan, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations, was also present at the ceremony.
