Apple will launch two iPhones in September, according to the latest rumor about the forthcoming handset. Apple blog 9 to 5 Mac said Apple would release two iPhones in September, one of which would be a “low-end” handset to compete with cheap smartphones running Google’s Android handset. Citing a “reliable source”, 9 to 5 Mac said “there will be no mistaking these two devices”. This latest rumor fits with other recent speculation suggesting that Apple might be about to launch a slightly improved iPhone 4 - the so-called iPhone 4S - and a completely revamped handset, the iPhone 5. Of course, Apple hasn’t even confirmed that there will be an iPhone 5 yet, much less that one - or two - will be released in September. However, Apple almost never pre-announces anything and by the time their product launches roll around it’s usually possible to piece together what will be announced based on rumors. It is thought that the iPhone 5 will have a faster processor - the same A5 model that is in the iPad 2 - and a better camera, possibly with an 8-megapixel sensor instead of the 5-megapixel one that is in the iPhone 4. Though the rumor mill does not agree exactly on specifications and even the number of handsets that Apple will release, there is almost unanimous agreement that whatever Apple has in the pipeline will be released in September.
