Abu Dhabi - Egypt Today
As part of its ‘SMART Service Stations’ initiative and introduction of cashless ADNOC Wallet-linked payment options, ADNOC Distribution is now expanding its SMART Tag installation facilities through new centres and mobile units serving customers throughout the country.
As part of an ongoing process replacing Rahal Cards, the company is rolling out a superior Smart Tag system which is installed at a vehicle’s fuel tank inlet.
The new smart technology speeds up and enhances the customer’s refuelling experience, reducing the potential for delays at peak travel times or due to congestion. Customers who register with ADNOC Wallet can pay for their fuel purchases at SMART service stations via a Smart Tag. Customers are also able to link their ID card issued by UAE’s Emirates Identity Authority to the Wallet and use it for payment. An ADNOC Plus card is also available for ordering and use as part of the ADNOC Wallet account.
SMART Tag installation centres are now operating at Al Ramz Service Station in Musaffah, the Al Ain Main Vehicle Inspection Centre at Falaj Hazza in Al Ain, the Al Talla Service Station in Ajman and at Al Rabdan service station, located in the Al Mushrif area in Abu Dhabi.
Mobile units are also now carrying out installations for vehicle fleets across the UAE.
Prepaid Individual and Prepaid Corporate Customers will soon be able to register and maintain their accounts from around 200 SMART service stations in addition to dedicated SMART Tag Installation Centres. Installation will be exclusively carried out by professional technicians.
Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, Acting Chief Executive Officer at ADNOC Distribution, said, "In only a short space of time, we have installed 20,000 tags for customers eager to take advantage of state-of-the-art technology to quicken and enhance their refuelling experience. As demand is rapidly increasing, we aim to install a significantly larger number of tags over the next two years."
He added: "ADNOC Distribution has ambitious plans for the future, and the continued rollout of SMART tags are an innovative part of that. We are committed, in line with the ADNOC Group’s 2030 smart growth strategy, to continue developing our business and further optimizing our performance."
The company is planning to convert all its service stations to SMART technology by 2018.
