Egypt and China signed an agreement Sunday to establish the first Chinese technical institute for information technology and communication in Egypt.
The institute will be affiliated to the Suez Canal University and based in Ismailia.
During the signing, Higher Education Minister Ahmed Abdel Khaleq said the institute is the product of cooperation between the ministry, the university, Misr El Kheir Charity Foundation and the Beijing Institute of Technology.
The agreement aims to offer distinguished learning opportunities and building technical cadres to enrich the Egyptian labor market, he said.
