The General Organization of Remote Sensing (GORS) and Lebanon\'s National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) signed on Wednesday a memo of understanding updating the terms of the memo signed in 28/12/1994 to further develop standing cooperation between them. Director General of GORS Osama Ammar underlined the importance of developing the longstanding cooperation between the two sides which led to important joint project such as the thermal surveying of undersea fresh water sources. In turn, Chairman of the CNRS Moein Hamza noted that Lebanon seeks to have Syrian establishments become the main partner of Lebanese establishment which will have a positive effect on development in both countries. For his part, Chairman of the Syrian-Lebanese Higher Council Nasri al-Khouri lauded the Syrian-Lebanese cooperation, saying that signing the memo represents the renewal and development of bilateral relations. The memo stipulates foe encouraging cooperation in the development and use of remote sensing and its technologies, covering several fields including scientific projects, seminars, exchanging visits and training.
