International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology (MILSET) Asia Office announced Monday that the results of the final qualifying competition of the ninth Kuwait Annual School robot competition, held under auspices of the Ministry of Education, resulted in the victory of three girls' intermediate schools.
The director of Milset's regional bureau, (engineer) Adnan Al Meer, said the final qualifiaction for the competition was organized in coopertaiton with educational development sector of the Ministry of Education and resulted in winning first place by Huthafa Bint Al Hareth School, Qaroh comming second and Um Hakeem School third place.
Al Meer added this year's competition was titled "Building Kuwait's Wall" and performing four tasks, indicating that each participating school was made up of two member teams supervised by a teacher and performed before the arbitrators team of Kuwaitآ’s MILSET آ‘Robotic Centerآ’.
He added the competition involved 50 schools for boys, including 33 boys' schools among them 18 robotic and industrial applications clubs, while 17 girls' schools took part in the competition including 12 clubs.
Al Meer said the annual competition aimed at encouragement of extra-curricular scientific activities by developing students' technical abilities, exploring their talents and investing in their free time.
