Saudi Arabia has participated in the Organisation

Saudi Arabia has participated in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit on Science and Technology in Astana, Kazakhstan.
During the opening session, a speech of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was delivered by Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Khalid Abdulaziz Al-Faleh, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stressed that the OIC Summit on Science and Technology held in Astana emanates from the values of Islam and the principles of the OIC Charter which emphasized the importance of science and knowledge as a fundamental element for achievement of sustainable social and economic development as well as the importance of enhancing cooperation among member states to promote science, research, technology development and innovation to lead the Islamic countries to prominent positions in the global economy.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said the Islamic world today needs a revival of knowledge (in light of the great challenges it faces), in a world where knowledge competition is raging and becoming the cornerstone of economic success.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stressed that the confidence of Muslim peoples is being enhanced to achieve these objectives, taking into account the Islamic history which is rich of knowledge achievements that moved the world from the ages of darkness to the golden ages of science and technology
