Qatar has sold its first commercial shipment of GTL gasoil from the Shell-operated Pearl gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant, the largest energy project ever launched by the country. The sale marks the start of production of GTL products as Qatar and Shell begin to receive revenue from the project, located in Qatar\'s Ras Laffan Industrial City. Production will ramp up from the first production unit of the Pearl GTL project over the coming months, with the second train expected to start up before the end of the year.
