Artifacts seized in Samalout

Tourism police in Minya have seized 20 artifacts inside the house of a driver in Samalout area.
Walid Ahmed el Leithi, 27, said he intended to sell the artifacts, which include statues and utensils.
Minya Police Chief Major General Osama Metwali said 43 more artifacts were also seized in the house of 63-year-old Ezzat Salama Salem, a farmer living in Abdel Ghani el Gebaly village in Samalout.
Metwali said the seized pieces include 40 coins dating back to the Roman and Greek eras.
The seized items have been confiscated, Metwali said.
The prosecution has been notified to start an investigation, he added.
