A collection of ancient historical antiquities and a buried treasure detector were seized on Tuesday, according to an official security source in the town of Ruseifah, north-east of the capital Amman.
According to the source, Preventive Security Department (PSD) personnel had received information that a citizen was possessing a significant amount of antiquities and was preparing to sell them.
It said the officers raided the house, seized the artefacts and arrested the citizen.
