Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb warned on Tuesday of a destructive plan to destabilize Egypt and spread terrorism.

Following a meeting with Azhar scholars and thinkers over mechanisms to renew religious discourse, Tayyeb said talks are underway with all bodies concerned to issue a religious discourse document.

He further called for boosting principles of compassion, solidarity and social justice to narrow the gap between the rich and the poor.
