Al Azhar is set to take part in the "intercultural and interreligious dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region" that will be held in Spain on July 22-23.
The dialogue, to be hosted by the Union for the Mediterranean, aims at developing effective mechanisms to bring about peace and stability in the Middle East region, according to a statement by al Azhar.
The gathering will probe also ways of fighting prejudice and promoting peaceful coexistence in the region, the statement added.
Several religious institutions and scholars are due to partake in the dialogue sessions.
