The head of a tourism promotion campaign called on the officials to cut filming fees at the historic locations nationwide.
Qadri el Haggar said such move could help revive the tourism industry which was hit hard by the political unrest over the past four years.
Speaking at a symposium in Alexandria on Saturday, Haggar called on the officials to "think out of the box', urging for more support to major tourism destinations in Egypt such as Luxor, Sharm el Sheikh and Alexandria.
