Balkan-Arab relations conference

Doha hosts the "Balkan-Arab relations" conference organized by the Forum of Arab and international relations, in Katara on 19-20 November.
   Dr. Mohammed Hamid al Ahmari Director of the Forum of Arab and international relations will open the conference while former Bosnian President Dr. Haris Silajdzic will deliver a speech at the opening session.
This conference is of paramount importance, as it will review the evolution of the Arab- Balkan relations across 3000 years, which have witnessed various developments in different historical stages, reinforced by religious, political, and historical factors.
The conference aims to identify the most important major phases in the history of these relations by studying the various political, economic and cultural aspects.
The event will also explore the causes and manifestations of the development of relations in the last two decades and their future.
A documentary on the life of Muhammad Ali Pasha will be displayed at the first day of the conference followed by a discussion session with director Dardan Islami.
The two-day event will discuss a historic theme featuring the image of Arabs in the Balkan culture, the political and economic theme revieweing the Arabic- Balkan relations in terms of relations between the two regions in the present day, the Arab Balkan relations after the Cold War and the Gulf -Balkan relations in the 20th century.
The cultural theme will showcase the Arab Balkan relations in literature and translations, the Arab contribution to the Balkan countries in the cultural field and its manifestations, the future of Arabic Balkan relations , the Arab countries and the Balkans cooperation, as well as the common political, economic and cultural interests.
