Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on Tuesday opened the Egypt Public Library in the coastal city of Matrouh at a cost of 36 million pounds.
The five-storey library covers an area of 3.209 square meters and has a convention center that could accommodate 500 people.
It also contains a heritage museum, language and computer laboratories and a bedouin products exhibition hall.
Mahlab is now in Matrouh to open development projects in the governorate.
