Cairo - MENA
Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb asserted that the highest Sunni seat stands by the army and police in their war against terrorism.
Tayyeb said that there are many conspiracies plotted by domestic and regional groups that aim to topple Middle East countries, including Egypt.
He made such remarks during a meeting held between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and a raft of army and police leaders, a group of Muslim and Christian clerics and a galaxy of politicians, media men and artists at the Galaa Theater in Cairo.
For his part, Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II asserted that the Egyptian church supports the army and police against terrorism.
Egyptians would exert utmost effort to wipe out the perpetrators of such terrorist attacks, the pope said.
