Egypt's Mufti Shawki Allam on Wednesday slammed the spread of false and groundless Fatwas across the country and the Islamic world.

In a seminar held at Tanta University, Allam asserted that such Fatwas should be challenged by ideologies and teachings that are adopted by Islam.

He said that renewal of religious discourse is meant to develop the religion's fundamentals rather than overlooking them.
