Paris - MENA
The French Council of the Muslim Faith condemned Israel's attacks against the holy Al-Aqsa in East Jerusalem.
Such violations run counter to
ethics and the sanctity of places of worship, Its leader Dalil Abu Bakr said in a released statement.
He said the holy mosque must be protected.
Meanwhile, Israel police prevented around 150 Jewish extremists from reaching the holy site.
Concerns that Israel was set to legislate changes that would allow Jews to pray there have sparked weeks of unrest at the site.
