Doha - QNA
Georgian Ambassador to Qatar Ekaterine Meiering-Mikadze on Tuesday visited Katara, expressing her admiration of the activities that, she said, bring peoples and cultures closer and extends bridges of communication among them.
She suggested holding a cultural event about her country and its culture and civilization, underlining the connection between Georgia and the Arab and Islamic world throughout decades.
The ambassador said the Arab and Georgian cultures are closely connected, noting that the Georgian language, which includes many Arab terms, is indicative of that connection. She hailed the depth of ties between her country and Qatar on all fronts.
In turn, Katara Director General Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Al Sulaiti welcomed the visit as well as the ambassador's proposal, saying that Katara always strives to find new ways of cultural cooperation in order to serve its cultural message.
