Globalization is the major threat to Arab culture, Egyptian Culture Minister Helmy el Namnam warned on Wednesday.
"Globalization has been proven to be useless in the world as it led to the loss of the national identity," he added.
Namnam made the statements during his participation in an event at the Khartoum International Book Fair, which kicked off in the Sudanese capital earlier on Tuesday.
At least 15 Egyptian publishers, authors and intellectuals are participating in the book fair, as well as 78 representatives of Egyptian publishing houses.
