Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati said Thursday the wise policy of Kuwait under His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah helped enhance the role of Kuwait in Arab, regional and international affairs.
During his meeting with Assistant Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information for External Media Affairs Faisal Al-Mitlagim on the sidelines of the 10th meeting of the OIC information ministers, Jannati said the two countries maintain close relations and fruitful cooperation in all fields.
He said he was looking forward to meeting Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah to continue consultations on issues of common concern.
On his part, Al-Mitlagim expressed desire to further enhance the bilateral ties particularly in the cultural and media domains.
He highlighted the need for the Muslim countries to join forces in the face of common threats such as the growth of extremist and terrorist ideology.
The two sides also discussed topics on the agenda of the meeting of the OIC information ministers with emphasis on the Palestinian question, the Israeli crimes and violations against the Palestinians, and joint efforts to combat extremism and Islamophobia.
Al-Mitlagim delivered a speech to the OIC meeting on behalf of Sheikh Salman yesterday. The meeting is being held under the theme of "Information cooperation for peace and stability in the Islamic world."
