Kuwait - KUNA
Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said that naming Al-Salmiya theater after veteran actor Abdul Hussein Abdulreza is part of a policy of honoring great Kuwaiti actors.
Abdulreza has a theatrical history of over half a century, which enriched the Kuwaiti theater with many prominent works, Sheikh Salman, also chairman of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday.
The veteran actor has a great sense of the Kuwaiti nationality, always presenting the trouble and issues facing society in his works, he noted.
The Minister said that Abdulreza had participated in different works including drama, radio shows and cinema, be it as an actor, writer or director.
Moreover, he is well known for being a leader in political, economic and social satire comedy, as well as being the first actor to take part in singing acting operettas, Sheikh Salman said.
Al-Salmiya theater is one of the best and biggest in the country, he noted, adding that the NCCAL is currently working on developing and expanding different theaters across Kuwait.
