Kuwait - KUNA
Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah is set to leave for Azerbaijan on Tuesday to take part in the First Global Forum on Youth Policies to be held in Baku.
Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud stressed in a press release on Monday the significance of taking part in the two-day event, considering the prior attention Kuwait gives to youth.
He urged exchanging expertise with leading countries in caring for youth, expressing hope the Forum will seek more support to youth policies.
The Global Forum acquires importance regarding the wide international participation, and it is also held under the auspices of Azeri President Ilham Aliyev, with the participation of UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth Ahmad Alhendawi, the UN Development Program (UNDP) and the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Minister said.
The Forum coincides with the 20th anniversary of the World Programme of Action for Youth launched in 1995, offering the first framework for youth policies aiming at shedding light on youth-related issues.
The Kuwaiti delegation to the Baku youth forum, led by Sheikh Humoud Al-Sabah, includes senior officials in the Ministry. There is also a joint delegation from the Ministry and the Public Authority for Youth and Sport (PAYS).
