The Government Communication Department, Ministry of Health, organized a number of religious lectures for the ministry\'s employees in Abu Dhabi as part of the ministry\'s efforts to increase the health and religious awareness during the holy month of Ramadan. The lectures host a numbers of guests who are participating in the guest scholars program of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to disseminate religious awareness and educate the community members on the importance of fasting and its impacts on the body and soul. In this context, Sheikh Shawki Abdul Lateef, Consultant of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf in Egypt, gave a lecture about the benefits of fasting and its impact on psychological and health status as well as the ways of protecting the body from diseases through following religious rituals such as fasting and prayers. The lecture dealt with the attention of the Islamic religion with hygiene in food, clothing and the importance of health and religious advices to avoid diseases and infections. The lecture also highlighted the guidelines and information about fasting and worships and the health, economic and societal impacts on the community members.
