The lunar month of Muharram and consequently the first day of the new Hijri year 1436 will start on Saturday October 25, the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) President, Hatem Ouda, told MENA on Monday.
Ouda said the Dhul Hijjah month will complete 30 days this year, according to astronomical calculations.
The new crescent will not be visible before the sunset of Dhu al-Qa'dah 29th, he added.
