Palestinians perform prayer in front of al-Huda Mosque

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned Saturday the recent burning of Al-Huda Mosque in West Bethlehem and a building belonging to the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem by a group of Israeli extremist settlers.
These attacks against Islamic and Christian holy sites are a systematic terrorism that is practiced by Israeli settlers against the Palestinian people, and Palestinian properties and holy sites, OIC Secretary-General Iyad Amin Madani said in a statement.
"This sinful crime is part of Israel's continued violations and assaults against the Palestinian people and their sacred places," Madani said, charging the Israeli occupation with a full responsibility on the aftermaths of such attacks that violate international treaties and charters.
The OIC will continue to work on exposing the occupation's criminal and racist policies against the Palestinian people, he affirmed, calling the international community, and UN Security Council in particular, to take immediate and firm action in order to stop Israeli violations, grant protection to the Palestinians and prevent reoccurrence of such crimes that feed violence and tension in the region.
