The Orthodox Church is scheduled Friday and Saturday to celebrate the anniversary of St. Mark the Apostle, the founder of Christianity in Egypt and the first pope for the Coptic Church.
Church spokesman Bishop Boulos Halim said Pope Tawadros II will deliver a speech during the celebrations that will also include lectures.
A major celebration will also take place in May on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the opening of Cathedral of St. Mark in Abbassiya, he added.
