UNESCO headquarters in Paris will for the first time host Norouz International Feast Exhibition. Norouz marks the first day of spring. Sponsored by ECO Cultural Institute, the event will display visual works featuring Norouz by Iranian and foreign artists in various sections such as photos, graphic designing and caricature. Personalities such as Kambiz Derambakhsh, Seifollah Asadiyan and Amrollah Farhadi as members of the selection board have selected some 180 works from among 4,000 entries submitted from 30 countries for presentation during the exhibit. The exhibition was earlier scheduled to be held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, but it will host the event after the Paris exhibition. Azerbaijan, Russia and Kazakhstan have also applied to host the exhibition following Tajikistan. Artists from the US, Yugoslavia, Malaysia, Azerbaijan Republic, Bulgaria, Ukraine, China, Afghanistan, Britain, Turkey, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Australia, Germany, Greece, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belgium, Georgia, Iraq, India, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Armenia, Tajikistan and Iran are participating in the event. ECO Cultural Institute plans to organize the First International ECO Visual Arts Exhibition in 10 countries to pave the way for exchange of views among artists.
