Qatar Eid fest

The Public Relations and Community Policing Departments of the Ministry of Interior organized a mega entertainment event for expatriate communities on Saturday, the first day Eid al-Adha at West End Park in Industrial Area and Al Khor Sports club. The mega celebration events showcased different cultural programmes, dances and performances led by local artistes from various Asian communities.
Assistant Director of Community Policing Department Lt. Col. Sultan Muhammed Al Kaabi officially inaugurated the Fest in West End Park in the presence of HE the Ambassador of Indonesia to Qatar Didi Saiful Hadi. Head of Security Media Section of the Public Realations Department Capt. Hadi Al Hajiri, Community policing officer Capt. Rashid Al Khayarin, second secretary at Nepal Embassy, Acting president of ICC Girish, president of NRNA Maqsood Alam, Representative of Srilankan community Tharick Qassim, Representative of Indonesian community Zainul Arifieen, Representatives of Pakistan community Ashraf Siddeequi and Amin Motivala, Country manager of Malabar Gold Mr. Santhosh and Sales manager of Al Marai Co. Mr. Jamal and President of V- Care Mr. Musthafa attended the inauguration ceremony.
'It my pleasure to greet you on the occasion of Eid Al Adha and the Ministry of Interior has organized this program for expatriate communities in the framework of community reach out program under the Public Relations Department for enhancing partnership between the Ministry and the expat communities. Today we are happy to see you all here enjoying the shows of different nations in a single place' said Lt. Col. Al Kaabi.
The Fest activities at Al Khor Sports Club was inaugurated by Lt. Shaheen Rashid Al Atheeque from PR Department of the Ministry in the presence of Lt. Salim Al Shammari of Community Policing and other Nepalese and Al Khor Community teams.
The Eid al-Adha Fest at West End Park attracted a huge crowd from various expatriate communities including families and bachelors. The shows at West End Park featured different cultural dances and performances led by local artistes from the Indian, Nepalese, Sri Lankan, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Indonesian communities. Hindi songs, dance performance by ICC team, dance by Gujarati Samaj, Folk song, performance by Banghya Parishat, cultural performance by Ideal Indian School, traditional show by Kerala Cultural Association, cultural show and cinematic dance by Skills Development Centre, traditional show by Kerala Cultural Association and traditional song were the events staged by Indian community.
Nepali community performed folk songs and traditional dances by Bued, modern Nepalese song and Nepalese cultural show, while the activities performed by Pakistan community include modern song, cultural performance, Urdu song, traditional dance and Pashto songs.
The Sri Lankan community artists performed modern song, Sri Lankan Arabic cultural dance, Sri Lankan cultural drumming session, traditional song, cultural dance and traditional dance.
Traditional song, costume show with modern music, traditional song, folk song, traditional dance and group song were the items performed by Bangladeshi community.
The Indonesian community team performed Indang dance, Rantak Besapi dance, Dolanan dance, sing dance performance Tortor Sinanggar Tulo, Jaipong Daun, Pulus dance and Rampak Pemudi dance.
The performances of Al Khor community team and the Nepalese community teams started at the Al Khor stadium at 5 pm. Artists from different communities performed charming shows, dances and songs that fascinated thousands of families and workers.
The sports events in Al Khor included a football match and tug-of-war competition between the company teams.
