Doha - QNA
HE the Minister of Youth and Sport Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali honored the former board members of Qatar Social and Cultural Center for Blind (QSCCB). The event, which falls within the ministry's strategy that aims to preserve the national gains achieved over the past years, and encourage the empowerment of youth and people with disabilities to unlock their abilities, was attended by new QSCCB board members.
In his speech on the occasion, HE Al Ali underscored the importance of spreading a culture of change that characterized Qatar over the years. This culture, he said, emphasized that power or position was not a goal in itself, but the primary goal was to serve the country.
"This culture was further cemented when we look at what HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani did," HE the Minister said, while calling for reinforcing and upholding such culture.
"The decision to form a new board does not mean that the former board was no longer capable of delivering," he said, adding it is because the time has come for the youth to be in charge.
He stressed that the former board fulfilled their mission in the best manner, urging them to provide support, advice and guidance to the new board. He added that everyone in Qatar should have one goal that is to contribute to building Qatar.
