The exhibition, previously seen in Amsterdam and Williamstown (USA), parallels the works of French impressionist Edgar Degas and the master who inspired him, Dutch painter Rembrandt. The Met presents a series of self-portraits of the two artists when they were young. Many Degas portraits come from renowned international collections such as The Metropolitan Museum in New York, The National Gallery of Art in Washington and The Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
