Folk songs and dances

A captivating mosaic of folk songs and dances drawn from the culture and heritage of Saudi Arabia was presented Saturday evening at Ahmed Bey auditorium of Constantine, by the folk arts troupe Al Djawhara, at the opening of the Saudi Arabian cultural week.

Organized as part of the event “Constantine, Capital of Arab Culture 2015,” the artists of this troupe allowed Constantine’s inhabitants to discover the Saudi Arabian authentic folklore.

Performing in front of a large audience, in the presence of the ambassador of Saudia Arabia to Algiers Mahmoud Ben Hocine Qatan and Kuwaiti ambassador to Algiers Saâd Fayçal Eddouiche, the members of Al Jawhara, all in traditional clothes, started their evening with the popular dance ‘‘El Khoutouat.’’

In a brief speech preceding the opening of the cultural week of Saudi Arabia in Constantine, the representative of Culture Ministry Noureddine Athamnia, highlighted the contribution of culture to strengthen the ranks of the Arab peoples.
