Senegalese Ambassador to Qatar visited the Public Corporation for the Cultural Village (Katara) with a view to developing the joint cultural cooperation between the Senegalese Embassy on one side and Katara and other cultural bodies in the state on the other.
The Senegalese Ambassador was briefed by Director General of the Public Corporation for the Cultural Village Dr. Khalid Bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, on the significance of the cultural village in the field of preservation of heritage, enrichment of culture and shedding light on art and thought, explaining that Katara become one of the most important cultural and civilizational edifices on the level of Qatar, the region and the world. He expressed Katara's readiness to cooperate closely with the Senegalese Embassy in Doha to host a Senegalese activity to shed light on the culture of Senegal.
For his part, the Senegalese Ambassador praised the role of Katara in revitalizing and supporting cultural activities and maintaining the Arab and Islamic identity, expressing his admiration over the diversified cultural and artistic activities hosted and sponsored by Katara throughout the year, saying such activities would bring the different cultures closer and would also extend bridges among peoples.
He pointed out that the outstanding relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Senegal, which were materialized in the Doha support of programmes and initiatives that emanated from the International Organization of the Francophonie during its 15th summit, held in Dakar in last December.
