Archeological signs were found in this northeastern province indicating existence of cultural ties between Iran and central Asian countries in the Bronze Age. Head of the exploration team working on the archeological site Ali-Akbar Vahdati said the signs were found during excavation operations on a historical site in the vicinity of Jajarm city. He said the way the dead were buried alongside some of their belongings resembles that of Central Asian tribes living in the same period. According to the official, during excavation operations in the Western Marv area in northeast of Iran, too, similar objects were found in graves and scientists found out that people in the two areas shared many rituals. The historical site in Jajarm is registered in the list of country’s national heritage due to its importance.
