The General Director of Aswan's Antiquities and Egyptologist Ahmed Saleh said that the sun rays will be perpendicular Sunday on the statue of Ramses II which was built in 1275 BC.
Saleh underlined that this phenomenon takes place two times annually; the first time on October 22 and the second one on February 22.
This phenomenon was not know except after the rediscovery of Abu Simbel Temple in 1813.
The sun rays fall perpendicular on Ramses II at Abu Simbel Temple which is a unique astrological phenomenon that will take place on Sunday at 6:20 and will last for 20 minutes.
