The Al-Wasatiya (moderation) Center in Moscow, in collaboration with a Russian society for social and cultural communication, held here on Saturday a gallery about the State of Kuwait, shedding lights on the main stages of its cultural, urban and economic development.
The center's Chairman Ali Polosin said that the gallery is held in recognition of Kuwait's leading role in spreading true teachings of Islam based on tolerance.
He added that Kuwait played a key role in disseminating moderation of Islam, underlining the significance of this approach amid campaigns aiming at distorting its image.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah played a key role in setting up Al-Wasatiya Center in Moscow in 2011, he recalled, underscoring the importance of this center in spreading moderation among Russian youth.
He said that many religious figures in Moscow underlined the importance of role of moderate Islam in countering extremism and tourism.
For his part, Kuwait Embassy's Third Secretary to Russia Nasser Al-Ramzi stated that the gallery coincides with the country's national celebrations.
He lauded effort exerted by the center in spreading a moderate image of Islam, stressing that the embassy is keen on continuing cooperation with the center.
