Grand Imam of Al Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Al Tayyeb received on Tuesday French Senate President Gerard Larcher and his accompanying delegation.
Al Tayyeb asserted Al Azhar's keenness on cooperation with all cultures and civilizations, establishing global peace and spreading the culture of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence.
Al Azhar is ready to set up a cultural center in Paris to expound the real Islam and protect the youth from radical groups, Al Tayyeb said.
He added that Al Azhar is interested in spreading moderate Islam among Muslims all over the world.
For his part, Larcher appreciated Al Azhar's role in combating radicalism, saying it calls for Muslim's positive integration in European societies.
Larcher said he is looking forward to boosting cooperation with Al Azhar in training French preachers to avoid the risks of radicals.
