King Abdullah II of Jordan met here on Sunday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Jordanian News Agency (Petra) reported.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the importance of re-launching serious and effective talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis, based on the two-state solution, which is seen as the only solution to put an end to the conflict.
Such talks must ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, they said.The two sides also discussed the Arab Peace Initiative, which was re-launched during the recent Arab summit in Jordan.
