Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan Nechirvan Barzani met Sunday with UK Defense Minister Michael Fallon who arrived in Erbil on Saturday evening.
Talks during the meeting focused on the military operations to liberate Mosul from the ISIS, and the mutual cooperation between Kurdistan and the United Kingdom.
The British Minister announced during a press conference in Erbil Saturday that the British troops targeted 300 sites for the ISIS group in Mosul and surrounding areas, noting that the British troops provided support for about 40 thousands of Iraqi forces, including 7 thousands of Peshmerga forces, in the fields of training and consultations.
Fallon expected to recapture the main Iraqi cities from ISIS in 2017, stressing the need to isolate Raqqa, the main stronghold for the ISIS organization in Syria, by spring.
