Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud received on Wednesday US Secretary of Defense James Mattis, currently visiting here.

During the meeting, they discussed ways of enhancing strategic friendship relations between Saudi Arabia and the US, especially in the field of defense, and the latest developments of regional and international events.

The US defense secretary's visit comes as part of his tour of the Middle East region that will take him also to Egypt.
